How To Pack For A Trek To Mount Kilimanjaro

Trekking is always a thrilling experience for the adventure freaks, especially if you are trekking to the African region. You cannot simply push away the problems or risks that might come on your way when you are planning a Climb Mount Kilimanjaro. However, it is always intelligent to keep your bag light and pack smartly. Let’s find out how smart you can pack during a trek to Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Know Everything in Details
Before starting your packing, you should have a profound knowledge of the place you are going to visit. The trek of Climb Mount Kilimanjaro generally is about 5 days and so you need to be very accurate in packing. The weather is also a constraint, which will determine what to pack and what not!


Carry Extra Layers
While trekking to high altitudes, i.e. mountains, always be ready to adjust the drastically changing temperature. During your Climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the first thing that you should add in the packing is extra layers. Needless to say, the porters will be there with your trekking team to carry the luggage.

Trekking Gears
There are certain accessories like headlamp, rope, torch, sleep sack, reusable water bottle, water purifier, walking stick and so on, which will be highly required while you climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

Protect From Sun
As you will trek to an altitude of 16,000+ feet, you need to take extra precaution to safeguard yourself from sun. Sunscreen lotions, hat, UV protective lotion, etc. are things which you will need a lot.

First Aid Kit
A small kit containing regular medicines, mosquito repellent, etc. should be there.

Navigational Gear/Tool
You can be lost in the dense, get stuck in the middle of the route or so on. So, during your trek to Mt. Kilimanjaro, carrying a navigation gear and communication tool, i.e. satellite phone, needs to be carried.
